But for Jones and his unit, morning PT is only a warm-up.
After everyone else has hit the showers and gone to work, Jones and his
team are back in the gym – for their real workout. Jones is the team
captain for an elite 2nd Infantry Division Tae Kwon Do demonstration team
that will spend the rest of the day kicking, jumping, flipping and
punching, sweating bucket-loads and going home in pain. Boards are broken
using their heads, hands and feet, and the stunts they perform are
circus-like in their acrobatic performances.

the grizzled veteran who has been around the block a couple of times? To settle this important debate, we're taking the fight to the streets,
pitting ESPN The Magazine's Tim Struby against colleague Ryan Hockensmith.
The showdown begins today at noon ET. After 12 rounds of verbal jousting,
we'll put some ice on the wounds and let SportsNation determine the

While the debate
rages on about the legitimacy of professional “wrestling,” there is
little doubt about the obviously painful reality of Ultimate Style
Fighting. The sport, often called mixed martial arts, combines the various
martial arts disciplines such as jujitsu, tae kwon do, karate, and
kickboxing, with traditional boxing. Fighters kick, punch and elbow their
opponents into submission. “Mixed martial
arts is the new, kinder gentler way of describing what was once called
no-holds barred fighting,” event promoter Steve Alley explained.

"The Gracie Hunter" because of his victories over Royler, Royce,
Renzo and Ryan Gracie, fought a 90-minute marathon match in PRIDE's 2000
Grand Prix. Sakuraba was declared the victor after Royce was unable to
