Jeremiah Miller

  • Jeremiah is 16 years old and attends Seminole High School where he is always on the honor roll or principalas list. He takes honors classes. In his younger years Jeremiah played soccer for 6 years. He enjoys teaching and training in Martial Arts especially helping the younger kids at both schools where he trains. Jeremiah also loves to swim and he enjoys reading interesting books. He is good at computers. He excels in all types of games on both game systems and computers. Because of his flexibility and super high kicks, Jeremiah was put on the poster for the National Kick-a-Thon sponsored by Project Action all over the Country in 2004 thru 2006.

  • He has been training in Martial Arts for almost 6 years now. He has been competing for 4 years. He is a 2nd degree Black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a Black belt in Tai Chuan Tao and Iaido sword. His first real instructors that got him really going strong into Martial arts and competition were Grand Master John Gabriel and Master Tony Cusumano. He also trained with Master Jim Graden. He trains and teaches at the Red Dragon Martial Arts Academy. He trains privately with Sensei Daniel Sterling (winner of MTVs Final Fu) and member of Team Paul Mitchell in creative forms and weapons. He recently started training and teaching under Master Ron Sell at Ron Sell's Black Belt Academy in Chung Do Kwan to further his Martial Arts knowledge. He loves to teach and work with children. During his earlier years in competition, Jeremiah excelled in all traditional forms and weapons divisions. He was the top competitor in state, national and world events when he competed as a beginner and intermediate. He also was inducted into the Florida Cosmopolitan Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2003 as the Student of the Year. Because of all his hard work and determination he kept this up in 2004 as an advanced belt and was again inducted into the Martial arts Hall of Fame as Youth Competitor of the year.

Jeremiah focused on traditional and creative/musical divisions for his competition. In 2005 he competed in his first year in the Black belt divisions. He had many national and world champions to compete against and he had to work extra hard to finish in the top three places in all of his tournaments. After several tournaments, he started moving up the ladder and started winning in state, national and world events. He finished #1 in Florida in FBBA, FLMA, FPCKE and also in some NASKA World/National divisions. Because of all his hard work and determination he was again inducted into the Cosmopolitan Martial Arts Hall of Fame, this time he was given the Youth Spirit Award. Because of all his hard work Jeremiah was asked to audition for Master John Chung's Side Kick International Competition Team, which was very intense but he was picked to be part of the team.

In 2006 he continued to compete all over the Country in his 2nd year in the Black belt divisions and keeps moving up the ladder at every event. In December of 2006 at the Cancun Open International Karate Championships, Jeremiah swept all the 14-15 year old divisions that he competed in and went on to win the Grand Championship for all 14 –17 year olds in weapons. At the end of the day he was the Overall Grand Champion of the event for the 14 to 17 year olds by doing his traditional sword kata. This was truly an honor to receive.

In 2007 Jeremiah had to focus on high school honors classes as well as his Martial Arts. He did very well in California at the Compete World Karate Championships in March. He was representing the Side Kick International Competition Team, but was asked to be part of the #1 competition team in the Country, Team AKA out of Chicago. This team is coached by Sensei John Sharkey and Mike Chat (former blue power ranger). What a surprise for him!

In April of 2007 Jeremiah was chosen with one other student out of over 38 students in all the high school in Pinellas County, Florida to receive a Doorways/Bright Futures Scholarship 2+2. He can attend Florida Junior college for 2 years and any Florida College or University for 2 years. Everything is fully paid for! This also makes him eligible for the Bright futures additional scholarship in his junior year of high school because of his excellent grades in honors classes while in 9th grade. He must continue to keep his grades up and being involved in the community which he enjoys doing. He enjoys speaking Spanish. He and his brother were recently signed by Maximum Exposure, a talent agency in Clearwater, Florida.

In July of 2007 Jeremiah competed in the US Open World Martial Arts tournament which is said to be the most prestigious event of them all. He competed against almost 30+ competitors in all of his regular divisions and won 1st place in all of them and then went on to finish in the top 4 in all the Elite 8 against the seeded NASKA competitors. A real accomplishment! He also competed in the Tiger Claw Elite National championships at the Wide World of Sports at Disney in October of 2007 and did an outstanding job in all his divisions.

Jeremiah takes part in many patriotic activities in Pinellas County on those special days like Flag day, Veterans day, etc. He also volunteers at the VA hospital because of his father being a disabled combat veteran from the United States Marine Corps. He will be at the top of the list at whatever he chooses to do in life as a career because of his determination and hard work!
